Weather decisions should not be invented at the last minute
Outdoor training depends on real conditions. Rain may be workable, heat may be unsafe, and storms may make a session impossible. If the rule is unclear, every forecast becomes a negotiation.
A simple weather policy keeps the decision professional and easier for clients to understand.
Define what changes the plan
Clients do not need a long policy. They need to know which situations may change the appointment and when the decision will be made.
This reduces uncertainty and makes weather communication feel consistent.
- Unsafe heat or cold for the dog.
- Storms, strong wind, or dangerous ground conditions.
- Heavy rain that prevents the session goal.
- A clear decision time before the appointment.
Offer a few fallback paths
Rescheduling is not the only option. Some sessions can move indoors, change location, shorten the outdoor portion, or become a planning call.
Having options ready helps the trainer protect the day without cancelling more than necessary.
Repeat the rule in reminders
The reminder is a good place to restate the weather rule in one short sentence. It prepares the client before the decision is needed.
When the forecast changes, the client already understands the logic behind the next message.
